Thong Kee Malaysia Kopitiam Ara Damansara

Reviewers describe it as unusually clean and organised for a kopitiam — two things not always guaranteed in the genre. Pork noodle comes in a generous portion and the old-school setup is part of the appeal.

What to order.

Good for.

Long mornings, working lunches, and the kind of visit that turns into two hours. Bring someone you actually want to talk to — the space rewards it.

The prices are reasonable. The pork noodle dish comes in a large portion for the price and includes a boiled egg, which is good value. However, the soup was quite bland. As for the fried chicken dish I ordered (I can't remember the exact name), the sauce had a taste that I didn't really like. The main issue is the seating arrangement. The restaurant squeezes too many people in, and the tables are only about an inch apart. It feels very uncomfortable eating so close to strangers, almost like we're sharing the same table 😵‍💫

One thing you will realise when you enter Thong Kee is how clean and organised this Kopitiam is. There have a menu and ordering is self service. We had chicken curry wanton mee and dry hor fun with shredded chicken. Both dishes were delicious and were authentic. Prices were reasonable. I felt the portions were slightly small but that may be because I wanted a bit more as it tasted so good 😊. I had White coffee and we can order according to the sweetness we want as they provide an option of 25%, 50% less sugar or no sugar (kosong). 50% less sugar was exactly how I like…Happiness. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and it felt like I was in my hometown Ipoh enjoying the hawker food.

Opening time from morning to noon (around 2-3pm), most crowded at 11:00-13:00, especially on weekend. It has indoor serving plate, and cleany, so far it's good. We come for lunch so have to queue about 10-15min to get in, another 20-25min to serve all food, so consider come at noon if you don't have a lot time. Rcm dish is Kaya Toast, Kopi also good (but the beverage is in the plastic cup although we eat dine in), Curry Mee (have alr remastered by Chinese cuisine so for me easier to enjoy), Char Kway Teow (must tryyyy). They also have variety of bread, claypot… can give it a try.

Nearby on the same walk.
